4/8/10-4/11/10 Lehigh Valley Ironpigs vs Syracuse Chiefs

Due to my lack of updates, I have decided to try to expedite the process by moving the Syracuse Chiefs games into series. So this was our first matchup with Lehigh Valley (Triple A affiliate of Philadelphia). The coolest part of the series was the nearly empty game, where Kevin Mench was in the store signing. He asked to take one of my cards (of course a numbered card I liked and had only one of..), but then he signed the rest of what I had, which was cool.

Cards:

Lehigh Valley
Brian Bocock - 2
Brandon Duckworth - 1
Chris Duffy - 3
Scott Mathieson - 6
Cody Ransom - 2
Joe Savery - 1
Wilson Valdez - 3
DeWayne Wise - 2 (1 extra)
Mike Zagurski - 2 (2 extra)

Syracuse

4/10/10: Rochester Americans vs Syracuse Crunch

This was the last game of the season. I didn't need squat from Rochester, so I tried to get some Syracuse guys, from the set we were just given that night. Unfortunately, I didn't get much done. I also got ex-Syracuse Crunch player David Ling in the stands. Overall, not a bad season.

Cards:

Misc
David Ling - 1

Syracuse
Trevor Frischmon - 1
Jon Mirasty - 1
Dan Fritsche - 2

Cards Today: 5, Overall: 225

4/9/10: Hamilton Bulldogs vs Syracuse Crunch

Next to last game of the year, yet this is our first time facing Hamilton (Montreal's AHL affiliate) at home this season. Sadly, I really had nothing at all I needed from them. All I got were some repeats..

Cards:

Hamilton
Ryan White (Extra)

Syracuse
Karl Gohering (Asst Coach) (Extra)

Braden Holtby - 2

Syracuse
Maksim Mayorov - 1

Cards Today: 3, Overall: 220

3/31/10: Hershey Bears vs Syracuse Crunch

Another matchup between Syracuse and Hershey. Having heard in the past that ex-New Jersey Devil Kevin Todd had been in the stand a few times, I was dragging my cards for him around half the season. Finally, I was able to get him. It's always nice to grab some autos in the stands!

Cards:

Hershey
Grant Lewis - 1

Misc
Kevin Todd - 8

Cards Today: 9, Total: 217

Alex Foster - 2 (Plus 2 extra)

Cards Today: 15, Overall: 205

3/20/10: Hershey Bears vs Syracuse Crunch

Kind of sad when you play a division rival for the first time at home, under a month before the end of the season. It's even more sad when 3 of the final 7 home games are against this team. But this was the case when Syracuse played Washington's AHL affiliate from Hershey.

Cards:

Kyle Wilson - 1
Jay Beagle - 1
Sean Collins - 1
Francois Bouchard - 1 (Plus an extra)
Jason Bacashihua (Extra)

3/6/10: Portland Pirates vs Syracuse Crunch

This was Portland's (AHL affiliate of Buffalo) only trip to Syracuse. It was great to see good prospects, as well as 2 great coaches. Dineen was pissed due to a bad game ending call by the ref, but he was still willing to sign. Got refused by Jhonas Enroth, which sucked. Of course, he played horrible crappy. Oh well.

2/28/10: Norfolk Admirals vs Syracuse Crunch

This is the last matchup between Norfolk (Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate) and Syracuse. Happy to see Mark Parrish again, ex-NHL all star but also a huge class act. 1/29/10: San Antonio Rampage vs Syracuse Crunch

This was the yearly trip to Syracuse by San Antonio (Phoenix's AHL affiliate). I was very happy to get from #3 pick, Kyle Turris, to sign..and sign a bunch! Also, we lucked out as San Antonio had a team meeting after the game, somewhere upstairs at the War Memorial. This allowed us to get players that we otherwise would have missed, especially since San Antonio usually walks to their hotel, exiting many different exits.

Cards:

Ryan Hollweg - 2
Joel Perrault - 1

Cards Today: 2, Overall: 32

9/6/09 and 9/7/09: Pawtucket Red Sox vs Syracuse Chiefs

Last series of the year. The last game, I had to show up midway through, which was awful. Thanks work!... It wasn't a bad year, set my new high (oh so tough to do when this is only my 2nd full year since getting back into autographs lol). Overall.. there were a lot of high and lowlights. I wish I had gotten out to Binghamton more often, as well as going to the golf tourney in Cooperstown. I think I will have to invest some money and time and head out there next year. I'll make a post after this just putting up my total stats involving the cards and books, for an easier lookup next year. PS - Angel Chavez is a douchebag.

8/31/09 and 9/1/09: SWB Yankees vs Syracuse Chiefs

This series was the typical Yankees clusterfuck. Of course, the fair weathers love the fact that Francisco Cervelli and Ramiro Pena were there, at least for the first game. The shitty thing about the date of this series, is that Sept callups occur on Sept 1st, and the Yankees are the type of team that says fuck it, lets call up whoever we want..we got the money. Lines down the whole 1st base side, made this shitty. They had security on the field *rolleyes* and even Yankees player Mike Dunn and I had a laugh about them being up the players' asses. AAA ballplayers shouldn't be treated like $20 million dollar men. But I digress. PS - Cervelli blew everyone off, Ramiro Pena was a douche, as was Ivan Nova. Over three months later, I can remember this..if that shows how douchey they were. On the contrast, Jason Hirsh was hilarious.

8/29/09: New York State Fair

We had gone to the State Fair, in hopes of watching Shinedown's free show. Needless to say, when it poured most of the day, we gave up. Ended up watching the last game of the Chiefs/Leigh Valley doubleheader. But while we were there, just so ended up that there was a WWE autograph signing. It was free, brought to us by Time Warner. So I said, why not? WWE personalities Jimmy Hart and Hacksaw Jim Duggan were there. Talk about bringing back childhood memories from when I actually used to watch this stuff lol. Ended up running into a guy I knew who gave me a Jimmy Hart card, which was cool. They also handed out photos of an empty ring, which both signed for me.

Cards:

Jimmy Hart - 1
